Our Projects and Initiatives

Together, let's build a future where peace, dignity, and sustainability reign.

WPD Projects and Initiatives

At Wings of Peace for Development (WPD), we believe that every action, no matter how small, can have a lasting impact when supported by the community. Our projects and initiatives aim to meet the real needs of communities while contributing to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Education and Peace Education

Education is a powerful weapon against poverty, exclusion, and violence. At WPD, we believe that education that incorporates the values of tolerance, dialogue, and mutual respect is essential for building peaceful and resilient communities. That is why we have set up workshops, school clubs, and community sessions where children, young people, and adults learn to resolve conflicts without violence and cultivate a culture of peace.

Our projects also aim to improve access to quality education, particularly for girls and children from vulnerable families. By strengthening local educational capacities and promoting inclusive education, we give every child the opportunity to flourish and become an agent of positive change for their community.

Community Health and Wellness

Health is the foundation of human development. Our community health projects focus on awareness, prevention, and access to care for disadvantaged populations, such as survivors of rape and sexual violence.

We organize campaigns on hygiene, nutrition, maternal and child health, and collaborate with health professionals to improve local practices.

These actions help reduce preventable diseases and improve the overall well-being of families.

We also focus on training community health workers to ensure continuous care within the villages themselves.

By bringing healthcare closer to those who need it most, we are helping to save lives and strengthen communities' resilience in the face of health crises.

Environment and Sustainable Development

Preserving the environment is essential for a sustainable future. WPD implements reforestation, waste management, and endangered ecosystem protection projects. We work with local communities to promote nature-friendly practices while combating the effects of climate change. Every tree planted and every awareness-raising initiative helps to strengthen biodiversity and preserve natural resources.

Our initiatives also include promoting renewable energy and green technologies. By raising awareness among young people and women about the value of the environment, we are preparing a generation that is conscious of and committed to sustainable development. These projects combine nature conservation with improving local living conditions.

Food Security and Sustainable Agriculture

Food security remains a major challenge in many regions. Through our projects, we support farmers in adopting modern, environmentally friendly, and productive techniques.

We promote sustainable agriculture, responsible livestock farming, and appropriate agro-pastoral practices to ensure sufficient, diverse, and nutritious food for families. These initiatives help reduce hunger and stabilize rural household incomes.

We also promote training and access to resources for young people and women, enabling them to set up viable small agricultural businesses.

Our goal is to strengthen community autonomy, stimulate the local economy, and build lasting resilience to food crises.

Empowering Women and Youth

We believe that women and young people are key drivers of change. That is why we develop training, mentoring, and entrepreneurship programs to enable them to acquire the skills they need to achieve economic and social independence.

These initiatives aim to break down gender barriers and promote a more inclusive and equitable society.

Our projects also include the creation of women's cooperatives and the establishment of platforms for young people to express themselves.

By strengthening their leadership and self-confidence, we prepare them to play a central role in the development of their communities and in building a more just and prosperous future.

Human Rights and Social Inclusion

Dignity and equality are universal rights. WPD is committed to defending these principles by raising awareness of human rights in communities and supporting victims of violence, particularly sexual violence.

We work with local actors to strengthen governance, promote citizen participation, and combat all forms of discrimination.

Our initiatives also aim to create a supportive environment where everyone, without distinction, can express themselves and participate fully in social, economic, and political life.

By emphasizing justice and fairness, we are helping to build the foundations of a more just, inclusive society that respects the rights of all.

Protection of Indigenous Peoples

Indigenous peoples, including Pygmy communities, are an integral part of our region's cultural and environmental wealth. Yet they often remain marginalized and vulnerable.

WPD is committed to defending their rights and promoting their access to education, healthcare, and natural resources, while respecting their culture, identity, and traditions.

We also work to promote their ancestral knowledge, particularly in the areas of biodiversity conservation and sustainable management of natural resources.

En les intégrant pleinement dans les initiatives de développement, nous faisons de leur participation un pilier essentiel d’un avenir plus équitable, inclusif et respectueux de la diversité.

A Global Vision for a Sustainable Future

Our projects are not simply isolated actions: they are part of a coherent and complementary strategy, where each initiative reinforces the others.

Together, they form an integrated framework that meets the essential needs of communities while respecting the principles of social justice, peace, inclusion, and sustainability.

By promoting education, we are preparing a conscious, responsible youth who will bring about change.
By improving health and well-being, we are strengthening families' resilience in the face of crises.
By protecting the environment and supporting sustainable agriculture, we are ensuring food security for future generations.

By empowering women and young people, we stimulate local innovation and promote equal opportunities. Finally, by defending human rights and protecting indigenous peoples, we ensure that no one is left behind.

It is this interconnection between our actions that constitutes the strength of Wings of Peace for Development (WPD). Each initiative is a piece of a larger puzzle: that of a future where communities are stronger, fairer, and more sustainable.
